At Ty Gwyn, your dog's happiness is our upmost priority. Our spacious, heated kennels are comfortable and secure, spread over three large yards allowing them ample space for play, exercise and cuddles!

We understand that every dog is different, so we like to take the opportunity to get to know a little more about you and your dog before their stay. We offer a range of food to suit your dog's dietary requirements or preferences, or you are welcome to bring in their own food with them. All of our staff are qualified canine first-aiders, and we are confident and familiar with most ailments and medications. You will be given the option whether or not to allow your dog to socialise with other dogs of a similar size and temperament. Click here to read about our daily routine.

All new boarders are welcome to come for a free, no obligation half-day trial before you make an official booking. We want all dogs to love their experience here, so by allowing them to familiarise themselves with our staff and routine goes a long way towards making the whole experience an enjoyable one! Our regular vaccination rules apply which you can view by clicking here. Please contact hey@tygwynpets.co.uk or click here to make a booking.

November Update:

We are completely fully booked for viewings and half-day trials until November 2024. If you would like to book a viewing or trial for after then, please drop us an email and we will try our best to fit you in as soon as possible.

FAQs

Do I need to supply my dog's food?

Preferably as it helps them avoid getting a bad belly during their stay. If you wish to pre-order their food then click here, otherwise just bring your own in from home. If you would rather we feed them our own food then this is more than okay with us. There is no price difference either way.

I have never left my dog before, will they be scared?

This is the most common query we have, and something we completely understand as dog owners ourselves. The short answer is no, we have hosted thousands of dogs over the years and all of them have adapted well to their little holiday. Something that we take very seriously is the emotional aspect of your dog's stay; making sure they have enough attention and affection is just as important as all of the basics as far as we are concerned. We will work with your dog's personality to put them at ease, however most owners are surprised to find that their dog is actually having a wonderful time exploring their new surroundings and playing with our staff! If you would like to come for a viewing, we recommend that you bring your dog with you so we can help to create a positive experience for them.

What else do I need to bring them with them?

Usually very little, we supply all bedding, toys, bowls and treats and we cannot guarantee the safe return of any of these items if you choose to bring in your own. We do require an up to date vaccination card to be brought along with your pet for each stay, and we prefer it if you bring their food with them too. We also keep their lead/harness in their locker for the duration of their stay. All dogs must be wearing a collar with an appropriate ID tag attached to it.

Will my dog mix with any other dogs during their stay?

This is up to you; you will be asked on your arrival form whether you consent to your dog socialising with other dogs during their stay. If you choose not to, then your dog will be exercised and played with on a private yard. Every dog is different, so we will do whatever works for your dog. Regardless of your decision, your dog will still get a minimum of four play and exercise sessions per day! If you choose to let your dog socialise, we will match them with dogs of a similar temperament and breed and they will be supervised at all times.

Are your premises secure?

Yes, our premises are completely secure and are monitored by CCTV 24/7. We also have staff at the premises around the clock, 365 days of the year. For more information on our security measures, please click here

What happens if my pet falls ill while I am away?

All of our staff are fully trained and certified in canine first aid, meaning we can quickly address many emergency situations as quickly as possible. If your pet requires veterinary attention, we will take them to their own vet in the first instance, or the nearest most appropriate vet in emergency situations. Please note, your dog will never be left unsupervised with any treat or toy which could pose a choking hazard. Any unsuitable treats will either be returned to you or donated to our local pet foodbank.

My dog is on medication, can they still board with you?

Of course! We are familiar with most common ailments and are used to all manner of medication, from creams and eye drops to tablets and injections. You will be asked for a description of your pet's condition and their daily dosage when you arrive. All dogs that board with us must have an up to date vaccination certificate, including all annual boosters as well as the Kennel Cough vaccination.

I am going to miss my pet a lot. Can I contact them during their stay?

Of course! Drop us a message via Whatsapp to 07539050384 and one of the team will get back to you with updates.

I don't want to leave my pet alone all day but  I am home in the evenings, do you offer a daycare service?

Sure we do, check out our Woof Club!
